Abstract
En este número especial de Ayana se presentan algunos de los trabajos que fueron expuestos en las Primeras Jornadas “Turismo, Comunidades y Ruralidad. Debates y construcción de sentidos desde los territorios”. Estas tuvieron lugar en formato virtual entre el 5 y 7 de mayo de 2021, en la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP). El objetivo de las Jornadas fue construir un espacio de reflexión y debate para poner en discusión la complejidad del turismo y su relación con las comunidades de pequeños productores campesino - indígenas en espacios rurales, en un escenario caracterizado por tensiones y disputas ambientales y territoriales en el marco de las políticas neoliberales que marcaron las últimas décadas. Dichas políticas ponen en peligro a estas poblaciones vulnerando sus derechos, sus modos de vivir y estar e interpretar el territorio, amenazando también su propia subsistencia. El turismo podría constituirse, en estos contextos, en una alternativa económica y una forma para resistir y afianzarse territorialmente.
