Abstract
El nombre de Carolina Coronado es, entre los escrito res originarios de Extremadura, uno de los más centra les en el canon literario español, imprescindible si este se refiere a la literatura del siglo XX. Portugal, su historia, su literaria, su actualidad y sus paisajes son una presencia muy frecuente en la obra de Carolina Coronado. Como señala su biógrafa Carmen Fernández-Daza, la defensa de la hermandad luso-española figura entre «los temas que han movido su pluma», junto a la defensa de la mujer y de la educación para el desarrollo de las sociedades, su rechazo a la guerra y a otras formas de injusticia.
