Ce projet de recherche, entrepris à l'Université de Sherbrooke en collaboration avec Hydro-Québec, présente les résultats d'une étude comparative des principales normes, tant canadiennes qu'internationales, touchant les charges de vent appliquées sur les structures de type lignes de transport d'énergie électrique. Il est indéniable qu'une estimation juste des charges pouvant affecter une structure au cours de la vie utile de celle-ci représente la clé de tout dimensionnement. De plus, une connaissance approfondie des facteurs intervenant dans l'estimation de ces charges permet de raffiner les calculs tout en inspirant aux concepteurs un sentiment de confiance en leurs calculs. Il est cependant important de garder à l'esprit que les codes et normes doivent permettre de guider adéquatement ceux qui les consultent. Le moyen d'y parvenir est de vulgariser la théorie qui soutient les calculs de ces normes et codes en expliquant clairement les paramètres composant les équations. Le présent mémoire porte sur la définition des principaux paramètres utilisés dans les calculs des charges de vent des différentes normes du domaine des lignes de transport d'énergie électrique."--Résumé abrégé par UMI.
