Abstract
"El suministro continuo de liquidez por parte de los intermediarlos en el sistema financiero es una de las bases de la estabilidad del mismo, como fue evidente en la crisis financiera de 2008? En este documento se encuentra que el mercado monetario colombiano está expuesto al contagio una vez se materializa el riesgo de liquidez, y que algunas entidades constituyen un mayor impacto en la liquidez agregada cuando sufren una caída en su posición de liquidez. Aunque en la práctica existen mecanismos de mitigación del riesgo de contraparte, estos pueden ser insuficientes en un evento sistémico en el que el colateral pierda la liquidez de mercado, de tal manera que establecer una reserva de recursos líquidos para aquellos intermediarios del mercado monetario, en particular para las comisionistas de bolsa, puede incrementar la capacidad del sistema para afrontar un choque de liquidez". -- Tomado del resumen
