Produced by DCTV (DeKalb County Television) Channel 23, this video shares the DeKalb Virtual Career Academy (DVCA) Closing Celebration, Class of 2024. Additional information: The DVCA program, envisioned by CEO Michael Thurmond in 2017 and supported by the Board of Commissioners, has been an immense success, providing work training opportunities and summer income for more than 4,700 DeKalb County youth, ages 14 - 24. This video takes you to the DeKalb Virtual Career Academy's (DVCA) Closing Celebration and Graduation ceremony held on July 10, 2024, at Georgia Piedmont Technical College. Broadcaster Ryan Cameron served as keynote speaker to the 700+ local youth participants who successfully completed five weeks of virtual training in the 2024 program. This summer internship program is made possible through partnerships between various organizations and DeKalb County Government, the DeKalb County School District, WorkSource DeKalb, and Georgia Piedmont Technical College.
