Distribución conocida y potencial de las especies del género Eurysternus Dalman, 1824 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) de Colombia

Abstract
[ES]: Se estudia el conjunto de información corológica procedente de cerca de 5000 registros georeferenciados sobre las 17 especies del género Eurysternus Dalman, 1824 con presencias constatadas en Colombia. Dicha información proviene de los ejemplares depositados en diversas colecciones públicas y privadas de Colombia, así como de la base de datos del Musée Canadien de la Nature. El conjunto de esta información es utilizada para estimar los principales condicionantes macroclimáticos capaces de explicar la distribución de estas especies, así como para representar su distribución conocida y potencial utilizando un protocolo previamente establecido. Los resultados muestran que la Temperatura Media Anual y la Precipitación Anual son las variables con mayor capacidad para explicar la distribución de estas especies, y que el solapamiento climático general de las condiciones en que habita cada una de ellas permite discriminar regiones climáticas de mayor Riqueza Potencial. La proyección geográfica de estos resultados identifica áreas poco muestreadas en Colombia pero climáticamente favorables en las que habría que realizar futuras prospecciones a fin de mejorar el conocimiento biogeográfico de estas especies.
