Abstract
Cúcuta es una de las ciudades fronterizas latinoamericanas que goza de un comercio rentable y diverso para el país, en parte, por su cercanía y dinamismo con la ciudad venezolana San Antonio. Sin embargo, la tensión que se ha venido presentando entre ambos países hermanos ha afectado el área comercial, económica y social y esto, empieza a verse reflejado en las largas filas de vehículos en las estaciones de gasolina, muertes por falta de asistencia médica especializada, deserción escolar y universitaria, desempleo, escasez, el cierre de la mayoría de las empresas por falta de mano de obra calificada, entre otros.
