Abstract
De Jonge Dryas (12,9–11,7 ka) is een korte, koude periode na het Allerød-interstadiaal, dat het einde \nvan de laatste ijstijd markeert. Het heersende idee is dat deze ‘kink’ in de opwarming veroorzaakt is \ndoor het leeglopen van Lake Agassiz in de Atlantische Oceaan, waardoor de Warme Golfstroom stokte. \nMijn promotieonderzoek richt zich echter op een nieuw idee, namelijk dat een meteoriet, ingeslagen \nin de Noord-Amerikaanse ijskap, verantwoordelijk is voor de tijdelijke afkoeling
