Se aborda a partir de las grandes líneas del marco institucional en que se inscribe el desarrollo de los estatutos del empleo atípico. Se presenta un breve panorama de cuestiones de investigación y metodología, se exponen las formas de organización y de representación de los trabajadores independientes, según diversas "lógicas de acción". Se ilustra la forma en que esas lógicas de acción contienen algunas pistas de diversificación y de renovación de las instituciones y de los actores de la representación colectiva para concluir con el enunciado de algunos de los desafíos que esta diversificación plantea al movimiento sindical.
