Abstract
El desatado de rocas representa el 30% de los accidentes fatales ocurridos en minería subterránea siendo considerado una actividad de alto riesgo; para disminuir este riesgo se introdujo al mercado un equipo auxiliar denominado Scaler; actualmente existen diferentes diseños, en su mayoría obtenidos por la conversión de equipos diseñados para la construcción y transporte de carga. La presente tesis muestra el diseño de un brazo hidráulico telescópico de sección rectangular con un alcance máximo de 5m cuyo equipamiento consta de: cilindros hidráulicos, martillo hidráulico, rodamiento de giro, motor hidráulico, bomba hidráulica, válvulas y mangueras, para convertir un elevador telescópico en un desatador de rocas cuya operación está enfocada en una sección de avance de 4mx4m (explotación mecanizada de vetas angostas). Por último, se usaron diversas herramientas computacionales como SolidWorks, Adams, Matchad y FluidSim; obteniéndose resultados en un menor tiempo y análisis iterativo en el desarrollo de la concepción del diseño.
