Anders Nilsson got the win to improve to 13-17-1 after stopping 35 of 37 shots faced in the winning effort. The Vancouver Canucks will also be looking to build on back-to-back wins after a 3-2 overtime win over Chicago in their last outing. Chicago opened the scoring with the lone goal of the 1st coming late in the period, before Alex Edler and Mikael Granlund tied the game and took the lead for Vancouver just over five minutes apart. The Canucks would hold the lead for most of the 3rd but couldn’t hold on, as Chicago would tie the game, sending us to OT where Bo Horvat scored just :16 into the extra frame to give the Canucks the victory. Thatcher Demko got the win to improve to 2-2-0 this season after stopping 29 of 31 shots faced in the winning effort. Ottawa is 17-55 in their last 72 road games and 16-36 in their last 52 games overall while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games against a team with a losing record. Vancouver is 7-17 in their last 24 games as a favorite and 18-38 in their last 56 games following a win while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 home games. Ottawa is 3-7 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams in Vancouver. The Senators and the plus money are tempting considering how well the Sens have played in their back-to-back wins, but the fact is that Ottawa has nothing left to play for and every win actually hurts their draft position. Vancouver still has an outside chance at a playoff spot and need to win games like these if they’re going to keep these hopes alive. The price isn’t ideal, but I’m not getting behind a Sens team that’s been brutal on the road. Give me the Canucks here.
