Abstract
This video presents Fergus Ontario's Wilson's dam near the Caldwell bridge. The impounded river provides scenic reflections of St. Andrew's mill. Dams and mills harnessed the 300 km Grand, notably in Elora and Fergus where exposed limestone forms a gorge. In 1856, James Wilson built an oatmeal mill beside Beatty's dam near today's steel truss Caldwell bridge (1955). The former mill was converted to residences in 1993.
