Abstract
The Whitetail Deer, Odocoileus virginianus, is a mammal that is found in United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and South America. It has also been unnaturally introduced to other countries and continents. In this study the random geometric probability of mating success was calculated and was compared to the actual mating success. The random probability of mating success was estimated to be about 0.03%. The Whitetail Deer can increase this probability through several factors such as size and the scent of the female deer’s urine to attract the male when she is ready to mate.
