Hamid Dabashi, İran: Ketlenmiş Halk (Metis), İran Sineması (Agora Kitaplığı), İslâm’da Otorite (İnsan) kitapları ile Türkiye’de bilinen bir yazar. Amerika’nın Columbia Üniversitesi’nde İran Çalışmaları ve Karşılaştırmalı Edebiyat profesörü olan Dabashi, son dönem İngilizce konuşan dünyada postkolonyal çalışmalar olarak tâbir edilen alanda adından bahsettirmeye başlayan bir isim. Gazete yazılarından akademik araştırmalarına, polemiklerinden eylemciliğine kendine has üslûbuyla kimilerinin tehlikeli bir demagog, kimilerinin ise ufuk açıcı bir düşünür olarak görebileceği bir isim. Değerlendireceğimiz kitabı, İslâmî Kurtuluş Teolojisi de tam olarak Dabashi’nin deneme ile makale arasında gerilimli bir şekilde salınan tarzının tecessüm ettiğini gördüğümüz bir kitap. Kitabın aslında farklı zamanlarda ve farklı bağlamlarda yazılmış çalışmaların tematik olarak bir kurtuluş teolojisine dibace olarak yeniden düzenlenmesi ile ortaya çıktığını ve bunun biçimsel özelliklerine yansıdığını baştan belirtmemiz gerekir.
