Abstract
La partie création du mémoire est un roman, dans lequel sont insérés des contes de la tradition orale, racontés par les personnages. C'est l'histoire de Jo, une petite fille convaincue qu'il vaut mieux être un garçon et qui décide d'ailleurs d'en devenir un. Elle entreprend un voyage de Québec vers la Louisiane, à la recherche d'un ami disparu. La partie reflexive du mémoire porte sur l'influence que peuvent avoir les contes oraux ou écrits sur le développement de l'identité personnelle et de groupe, et en quoi la valorisation du patrimoine oral d'une culture peut contribuer à la garder vivante.
