Abstract
Whizz lived 12 years saving the lives of 9 humans and one other dog from drowning. A brave dog's being posthumously honored for lifetime of saving people from the water. Whizz was a Newfoundland that guarded the Bristol Channel and River Severn in the United Kingdom that lived to 12 years old. In that time he leapt off boats, saving the lives of 9 humans and one other dog from drowning. Whizz was given the PDSA Order of Merit, an award honored to animals that display outstanding devotion to their owner or society. Whizz passed in early March so his handler Ellie Bedford owner David Pugh and cousin, Tizz accepted the medal on his behalf.
