Abstract
Dans ce mémoire, nous étudions les sources des fluctuations cycliques des heures totales travaillées en fonction de l’âge au Canada. Nous documentons pour la première fois au moyen de données de l’Enquête sur la Population Active (EPA), l’hétérogénéité de la volatilité du marché du travail canadien selon l’âge et le sexe pour les trois dernières récessions. Nous rationalisons par la suite les résultats empiriques au prisme d’un modèle à la Diamond-Mortensen-Pissarides incluant capital humain, cycle de vie et offre de travail. En particulier, pour répliquer les faits empiriques pour les hommes, le modèle repose sur une élasticite Frisch d’offre de travail très faible ce qui est cohérent avec les micro-données. _____________________________________________________________________________ MOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : démographie, offre de travail, cycle de vie, cycle économique, marché du travail
