Abstract
Le Québec sera-t-il indépendant? Le 24 juin 1990, jour de la Fête nationale du Québec, de très importantes manifestations se sont déroulées à Québec, après l'annonce de l'échec d'un accord constitutionnel qui aurait permis au Québec de réintégrer la Confédération. En effet, la veille, le 23 juin 1990 à minuit, l'Accord constitutionnel du Lac Meech devenait caduc, faute de ratification par les parlements des provinces du Manitoba et de Terre-Neuve. La chute de cet accord, dont on espérait qu'il allait servir de base à un modus vivendi entre le Québec et le reste du Canada, était en fait l'aboutissement d'un regain de tension entre les deux communautés linguistiques francophone et anglophone.
