Abstract
Tant par leur ancienneté, par leur volume que par leur qualité, les archives judiciaires du Québec conservées par Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) et par les tribunaux offrent depuis longtemps un fort potentiel pour la recherche, tout en étant liées de manière intime à la protection des droits des citoyens. Le recours à ces archives est crucial pour de multiples groupes de la société québécoise. Dans le cadre du 100e anniversaire des Archives nationales du Québec en 2020 et désireux de faire le point sur l’historique, les usages et les enjeux entourant ces sources fondamentales de l’histoire québécoise, BAnQ organise, en partenariat avec l’université de Montréal et le CIEQ des journées d’étude sur le sujet. S’adressant autant au grand public qu’aux experts, elles visent à réunir autour d’une même table des spécialistes de tout horizon qui s’intéressent aux archives judiciaires ou qui les utilisent.
