Ce mémoire a pour objet d’étude la reconfiguration de la relation entre travail et formation. Il cherche à mettre en lumière le processus par lequel les compétences transversales sont entrées dans le système scolaire primaire et secondaire québécois au tournant des années 2000. Dans une analyse combinant une approche par homologie inspirée des travaux de Lucy Tanguy, et une étude des représentations sociales basées sur le modèle développé par Pascal Moliner, ce mémoire a pour objectif de comprendre la modification du rapport entre travail et formation s’étant opéré par l’introduction des compétences transversales. Il vise à démontrer l’influence exercée par les nouveaux systèmes productifs et les pratiques de flexibilisation du travail sur le développement d’une nouvelle conception de l’éducation primaire et secondaire. Une conception ayant pour vocation de «sécuriser» les parcours professionnels des futurs travailleurs en leur inculquant des compétences visant l’adaptabilité et l’«employabilité». Par contre, cette sécurisation ne serait pas exclusivement motivée par les modifications opérées sur le marché du travail, mais aussi par le développement d’une conception du monde contemporain fondé sur l’incertitude.
