Abstract
According to the subsystem for monitoring domestic violence, sexual violence and child abuse (SIVIM) for the year 2020, a total of 14,327 cases of abuse against children and adolescents were reported in the city of Bogota. These figures show a latent problem in society with respect to the vulnerability of the rights of minors; however, the consequences on the mental health of this population are even more alarming. Child abuse and specifically neglect is a complex issue, and its study relates individual, family and socio-cultural variables, which make the study of child abuse and neglect even more complex. The main objective is to identify the risk factors associated with cases of neglect reported in the Colsubsidio Children's Clinic in the first quarter of the year 2021. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective study with a quantitative methodology. The review of clinical histories was counted with a sample __among children and adolescents aged 0 to 17 years.
