Abstract
Este trabajo de investigación a partir de los fundamentos del Estado laico, los sucesos históricos en la relación Estado-iglesias en México, las reformas constitucionales para la construcción de un nuevo marco normativo para el actuar de las instituciones religiosas en la esfera pública mexicana, la existencia de laicismo de Estado, la discriminación hacia las minorías religiosas y la secularidad educativa, y, finalmente, la comparación sobre el tratamiento de la diversidad religiosa entre México y Quebec pretende analizar la situación actual del proceso para el reconocimiento de la libertad y diversidad religiosa en México y sostener el estatus inconcluso de dicho proceso.
