Narcisa Hirsch es pionera en el cine experimental argentino, con una obra que se extiende desde los ’60 hasta la actualidad, y que incluye películas en Super 8 y 16 milímetros, cortometrajes, instalaciones, intervenciones urbanas, happenings y grafitis. En sus inicios formó parte de lo que se llamó después el Grupo Experimental Goethe, que integraban artistas como Marie Louise Alemann, Claudio Caldini, Juan José Mugni, Juan Villola y Horacio Vallereggio. En su obra reflexiona e invita a reflexionar sobre una pluralidad de temáticas como la condición humana, la feminidad, el amor y las ideologías. Una retrospectiva de su obra fue presentada en el Festival de Cine Independiente de Buenos Aires BAFICI 2012. En junio de 2013 fue homenajeada en el Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF 2013), junto con el cineasta canadiense Michael Snow, referente del cine experimental mundial. Nacida en Berlín en 1928 y radicada en Argentina desde antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Narcisa divide su tiempo entre su casa de San Telmo y su chacra en Colonia Suiza, en los alrededores de Bariloche. Allí fue entrevistada por Desde la Patagonia, difundiendo saberes.
