Abstract
30-minute weekly radio program for May 18, 2010. A condensed version of a long and fine speech on the pacification of the increasingly-suppressed citizenry by the mass media, the lies and fraud at the heart of the national economy, Wall Street's destruction of the U.S.'s manufacturing sector, "Brand Obama," the perfidy of Obama and other "courtiers" to the real power, the failure of the Left to challenge Obama's Bush-ist policies, and the funeral of Michael Jackson. Our best hope, Hedges concludes, is a revival of Democratic Socialism in the U.S. Contributing an uncharacteristic note of relative optimism is Leonard Cohen, singing "Democracy [is Coming . . . to the U.S.A.]."
