Abstract
Este texto é resultado de parte de uma pesquisa etnográfica realizada em um bairro operário da cidade de Contagem, na região industrial de Belo Horizonte, entre os anos de 1995 e 1997, cujo objetivo, entre outros, foi identificar e compreender como a categoria comunidade, enquanto uma construção simbólica nativa está presente e é significada no imaginário de jovens de duas comunidades Eclesiais de Base. Em outros termos, busquei analisar os significados e sentidos dessa expressão simbólica compreendida na perspectiva da vida concreta desse grupo social específico em suas vivências cotidianas da qual a experiência religiosa integra-se a um contexto de lutas pelo direito à cidadania. \n\nPalavras- chave: comunidade, imaginário, jovens, comunidades eclesiais de base\n\n\nThis text is resulted of part of a carried through ethnographic research in a laboring quarter of the town of Contagem, in the industrial region of Belo Horizonte, between the years of 1995 and 1997, whose objective, among others, was to identify and to understand how the category community, while a native symbolic construction, is present and is meant in the imaginary one of young of two Comunidades Eclesiais de Base. In other terms, I searched to analyze the meanings and sensible of this symbolic expression understood in the perspective of the concrete life of this specific social group in its daily experiences of which the religious experience is combined context of fights for the right to the citizenship.\n\nKey- words: community, imaginary, young, comunidades eclesiais de base
