Abstract
This report on a mission to The People's Republic of Mozambique (20-Jo August 1979) delivered By V. Kannisto Inter-Regional Adviser on Demographic and Social Statistics (U.N. Statistics Office) and E.A. Colecraft Regional Adviser on Demographic Statistics (ECA Statistics Division). On this mission report highlighted that, the mission was undertaken at the request of the Government; to review the plans for the 1980 Population Census of Mozambique, particularly the field organization, census documents and plans for data processing. The Working Groups compiled preliminary results from the pilot manually. The preliminary report of the pilot based on the compilations of the Working Groups, gave the population of the District by sex and six age groups at the locality level. There is the need for the census organizers to keep up the momentum generated by the preparation for the pilot census and to ensure a strict adherence to the census timetable.
