Abstract
À partir de la lecture littéraire des romans Ashini (1960), d Yves Thériault, La Boutique aux miracles (1969) de Jorge Amado et L Espérance macadam (1995), de Gisèle Pineau, narrations qui offrent au lecteur le drame vécu par des personnages représentatifs de groupes ou de collectivités jusqu alors apréhendés sous des stéréotypes négatifs, ce travail essaie de montrer comment la littérature, en grande partie responsable de la construction et de la diffusion des stéréotypes négatifs de l altérité, peut dans un mouvement inverse devenir capable de contribuer à la formation d une culture de paix. En fait, ces récits invitent le lecteur à découvrir sous l apparente différence de l Indien, du Noir et du Métis, l humanité au-delà des rontières de race, de classe, d ethnie et de catégories sociales.
