Abstract
Ma már köztudott, hogy a megelőzhető halálozás legfontosabb oka a dohányzás, ennek ellenére a fiatal populáció dohányzásának megelőzése ma sem megoldott népegészségügyi probléma. Az orvostanhallgatók dohányzása azért is érdemel kiemelt figyelmet, mert az egészségügyi szakemberek dohányzáshoz való viszonyulása szerepmodellként érvényesül a betegek körében. \n Célkitűzés: \n A jelen kutatás célja a szegedi preklinikai (első- és másodéves) orvostanhallgatók dohányzói státusának, dohányzási gyakoriságának és a dohányzással kapcsolatos attitűdjeinek megismerése volt. \n Módszer: \n Összesen 212 hallgatót vontak be az elemzésbe, az évfolyamok mintegy 50%-a adott információt a dohányzásról, illetve a dohányzással kapcsolatos vélekedéseikről. Az attitűdök megismeréséhez a The Students’ Health and Lifestyle Study, The University of Western Ontario (Kanada) skálájának 20 állítását alkalmazták, amelyek adaptálása már korábban megtörtént. \n Eredmények: \n Kimutatták, hogy az 1990-es évek kutatási eredményeihez viszonyítva a dohányosok száma nem csökkent, sőt némi emelkedést figyelhettek meg. Sem az első, sem a második évfolyamon nem volt különbség a férfi és női hallgatók között a dohányzói státus szerint. Több nem dohányzó hallgató fogadja el saját modellszerepét. \n Következtetések: \n Az addikciókat érintő interdiszciplináris kurzusok mellett szükség van olyan gyakorlatorientált, betegcentrikus kurzusokra is, ahol a dohányzásról való leszoktatás módszereinek alapjait is elsajátíthatják a hallgatók. Emellett szükség van a dohányzó orvostanhallgatók számára olyan programra, amely segíti a leszokást. \n\t\t\t | \n\t\t\t\tDespite the well-known fact that smoking is the most important cause of premature death, prevention of smoking in young people is still an unresolved public health problem. Smoking among medical students in particular should receive a special attention since smoking-related attitudes among health care professionals may act as role models among the patients. \n Objective: \n The main goal of the present study was to detect preclinical (year 1 and year 2) medical students’ smoking status, smoking frequencies and smoking-related attitudes in Szeged. \n Method: \n The whole sample consisted of 212 students, approximately 50% of the grades reported on their smoking status and smoking-related attitudes. Attitudes were measured by using a scale of The Students’ Health and Lifestyle Study, The University of Western Ontario (Canada) that previously had been adapted. \n Results: \n The data show that frequency of smokers did not decrease but slightly increased as compared to the research results from the 1990s. Neither year 1 nor year 2 students showed gender differences according to their smoking status. More nonsmoking students accepted their own role model. \n Conclusions: \n Besides interdisciplinary courses on the addictions, more practice-oriented and patient-centered courses are also needed to get the students familiar with basic principles of devices for smoking cessation. In addition, there is also a need for a program helping smoking medical students stop smoking.
