Abstract
Malnutrition is the result of insufficient food intake and repeated infectious diseases. Un dernutrition includes being less than normal for age, have a shorter than the corresponding age (stunted), dangerously thin (wasted), and deficient in vitamins and minerals (micronutrient malnutrition). When a person is malnourished, their immune system decreases \nas growth, resistance to infection, recovery from illness, learning, \nphysical labor, pregnancy and lactation in women. In addition to \ndiseases like diarrhea, pneumonia, malaria and HIV 1 AIDS, are \nmajar causes of malnutrition of poor quality food in infants_and \nyoung children, and in particular, the lack of optimal \nbreastfeeding and good complementary feeding. \nThis research work entitled "Relationship between sociocultural \nfactors and child malnutrition in children under 5 years in the \nhealth center'' Ollantay "san Juéin qe Miraflores, 2013", aimed to \ndetermine the relationship between the factors sociocultural and \nchild malnutrition children under 5 years, the rate \nResearch is a quantitative study, descriptive correlational, crosssectional, \nwith a sample of 50 children under 5 who were \nsurveyed in the period of the last quarter 2013.0bteniendo an \nindex of 0.966 ie 96.6%, with freedom index 034 or 3.4%, which \nvalidate the alternate hypothesis that "there Significant \nrelationship between sociocultural factors and Child malnutrition \nin children under 5 years in the Health Center'' Ollantay "John \nMiraflores 2013 ", where the knowledge of the mother and 1 or \ncaregiver of the child on · the rich in vitamins and protein are / \nimpórtant to combat malnutrition, also their customs, origin, age \nof the mother and 1 or caregiver, habits hygiene, income, and \nnumber of children. Specifically, \nknowledge of the risk of child stunting among different groups of \nmothers and their children can help design policies targeting \ncertain groups of mothers and children, priority attention.
