Abstract
L’articolo analizza la più recente legislazione della Regione del Veneto attraverso la quale è stata prevista l’indizione di due consultazioni referendarie: l’una avente ad oggetto la rimodulazione dell’autonomia regionale, l’altra relativa, in via più radicale, all’acquisizione dell’indipendenza dallo Stato italiano. Seguendo un approccio comparatistico, le esperienze nazionali, alla luce della lettura offerta dalla Corte costituzionale, vengono poste in relazione agli spunti forniti dalla Corte suprema canadese, con riferimento alla secessione del Québec, e dal Tribunale costituzionale spagnolo, in rapporto all’indipendenza della Catalogna, in ordine al ruolo giocato dagli istituti di democrazia diretta nell’ambito del procedimento di revisione costituzionale.
