Les manuscrits Lynar représentent une des collections plus vastes de musiqued‘orgue d‘Allemagne du Nord. La collection Lynar B3 comprend un nombreconsidérable d‘oeuvres anonymes qui ne furent jamais publiées. Cette étudeconstitue donc la première publication d‘une transcription de cette tabulaturehistorique en notation moderne de tous les praeludia/praeambula anonymes dufascicule Lynar B3. En outre, l‘étude replace ces pièces dans l‘histoire dupraeambulum d‘Allemagne du Nord dans une perspective synoptique du rôle de lamusique d‘orgue à l‘intérieur de la messe luthérienne, de celui de l‘improvisation,de l‘influence de la fantasia sur le praeludium, du système de tabulature, et del‘histoire et du contenu du manuscrit Lynar B3 même. Cette étude propose uncatalogue thématique des incipits de toutes les pièces avec informations sur lesdurées, les tonalités, et les considérations formelles. Si la collection ne dénote pasune qualité uniformement élevée comparable à l‘oeuvre de Sweelinck ou celled‘autres éminents compositeurs, elle offre néanmoins un aperçu très stimulant del‘atelier d‘un organiste du XVIIème siècle, et ajoute à notre compréhension d‘uneressource historique significative.
