Abstract
This chapter addresses the issue of domestic violence and abuse within transnational spaces by \nfocusing on the abandonment of wives as a form of domestic violence against women who \nmarry across national borders. Transnational marriage abandonment has been recently recognised \nas a form of domestic violence following activism by feminist organisations. This chapter \ndraws from our 2013–16 study conducted in India and the existing research and policy developments \non this emerging theme in South Asia, Canada, Australia, England and Wales, to outline \nthe specificity of this form of violence and its implications for understanding violence against \nwomen through the lens of intersectionality.
