Ce recueil est le fruit d'une collaboration de plusieurs années entre la Faculté de psychologie de l'Université d'État de Moscou Lomonossov et la Faculté des sciences de l'éducation de l'Université de Montréal. Il part du constat que le nom de Vygotsky s'est imposé dans le domaine de l'éducation et que son oeuvre est considérée comme incontournable pour traiter des questions éducatives d'aujourd'hui. On ne compte plus les publications qui y font référence. Pourtant, il existe un écart considérable entre les textes disponibles et les positions qui lui sont attribuées.
