Abstract
Le présent article décrit la situation linguistique à Dieppe. à la fois dernière ville francophone au sud-est de l'arc acadien et immédiate banlieue de la ville de Moncton, elle héberge une majorité de francophones en contact permanent avec la communauté anglophone, majoritaire dans la province du Nouveau-Brunswick. Le continuum linguistique est le plus étendu possible, allant de locuteurs unilingues français à des locuteurs unilingues anglais, en passant par des locuteurs parfaitement bilingues. à l'aide de différentes sources (sondages de Statistiques Canada, sondages municipaux et enquête de terrain), nous tentons de dresser le portrait des communautés francophones et anglophones, ainsi que des relations qu'elles entretiennent. Se dessine une relation plutôt apaisée, mais plus instable qu'on l'imagine de prime abord.
