Abstract
This article discusses the opportunity to introduce green purchasing concepts in Petrobras SA process of purchasing goods and materials, taking its North and Northeast regional supply sector as a basis for the study. Thus, purchasing processes would also contemplate ecoefficiency aspects, using purchasing power as an element to contribute to environmental responsibility practices. For this, the methodological procedure used to ensure the necessary data focused on the points raised in the research literature review and on the understanding and development state of implementation of the Canadian norm CSA Z766-95. Therefore, with the quantitative and qualitative results of the development of CSA Z766-95 implementation guide, a green purchasing strategy has been developed and validated. It is based on the creation of global contracts for the supply of environmentally friendly products previously selected, inducing environmentally responsible behavior of the suppliers.
