Abstract
This paper is a contribution to examine the impact of public policy (federal and hence national) in Mexico during the last quarter century of scientifc research and higher education in the felds of social sciences and humanities. Take as a representative example sociocultural anthropology.This is not homogenous, but is widely known that traditionally is marked by a strong aspect of qualitative studies based on intensive interaction with members of social groups studied (called “feld work ”) and which may be considered as a pole of a continuum,which are also located disciplines such as history, humanities and philosophy.
