Abstract
This commissioned report provides a population-level analysis of the initial integration of international nurses into NHS England’s healthcare workforce. Drawing on national workforce data and local case studies, the analysis identifies key factors shaping recruitment, retention, and integration. Findings highlight both structural challenges and good practice examples that can support international nurses’ professional and social adjustment, contributing to workforce stability and improved patient care.
