F I G U R E 6 Yellow perch (Perca flavescens) embryos (a–c with chorion and d without chorion) in organogenesis 4 upon incubation at constant 12 C. Coordinated movements of pectoral fins are quite frequent in organogenesis 4 (see Video S2). Early formation of jaw and the pharyngeal cartilages can be seen in the ventral view of the head (panel a), whereas the dorsal view of head is provided in panel (b). The pigmentation on the body of a ready-to-hatch embryo is depicted in panel (c). The body of the embryo completely straightens, as shown in panel (d). Scale bar A and B = 200 and C = 1000 μm.
