Abstract
Figure 2. Nestling development in Grallaria occabambae throughout the 18-day nestling period. (a) A few hours after hatching with black natal down; (b) A 4-day-old nestling with pinfeathers emerging on wings, back, and flanks, with abundant black post-natal down (semiplumage) on flanks and scapulars; (c) 8-day-old nestling; grey pinfeathers had begun to appear on all tracts and the pinfeathers on the flanks and wing coverts had developed chestnut tips; (d) 14-day-old nestling, with black semiplumage that covers a significant portion of their body, nape, wings cover, belly, and neck, and black feathers beginning to emerge on the wings; (e) 17-day-old nestling presenting completely open eyes; the back, head, flanks, belly, neck, and tail are covered completely with dark semiplumes, and the lower body parts, such as the breast, sides, and belly, have a pattern of arrowshaped ochraceous to whitish streaks; (f) 18-day-old nestling showing adult-like rufous contour feathers on the cheek path and ocular region, while a fluffy dark plumage covers around 70% of the body, particularly the crown. Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
