Abstract
Résumé (FR)La dette publique française atteint 3 300 milliards d’euros, soit 113,9 % du PIB au 1er trimestre 2025. Ce record soulève des inquiétudes sur la soutenabilité budgétaire et la souveraineté financière de l’État. Parallèlement, la création de l’Alliance des États du Sahel (AES) en 2024 a marqué une rupture géopolitique majeure avec Paris. Cet article démontre que la dette française est structurelle et endogène, mais que la rupture sahélienne agit comme un amplificateur stratégique en réduisant les marges extérieures de puissance, révélant ainsi l’obsolescence du modèle français de projection militaire et d’influence économique. Abstract (EN)French public debt has reached €3.3 trillion, representing 113.9% of GDP in the first quarter of 2025. This record raises serious concerns about the sustainability of public finances and the state’s financial sovereignty. At the same time, the creation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) in 2024 marked a major geopolitical rupture with Paris. This article argues that while French debt is primarily structural and endogenous, the Sahelian rupture acts as a strategic amplifier by reducing external levers of power, thereby exposing the obsolescence of France’s traditional model of costly military projection coupled with economic influence.
