Questo rapporto presenta i risultati di un progetto di ricerca orientato al futuro che esplora la competitività futura delle imprese italiane di medie-grandi dimensioni, plasmata dall'intelligenza artificiale e dalle tecnologie abilitanti. Il suo scopo è quello di fornire sia riflessioni che spunti, offrendo una visione strutturata dei futuri possibili e delle loro implicazioni strategiche. Il documento si apre con una panoramica del contesto di ricerca – l'Osservatorio sulle tendenze e le applicazioni del supercalcolo – in cui si colloca questo studio. Successivamente, vengono presentati il quadro teorico: attingendo al campo dei Future Studies, questa sezione chiarisce le distinzioni tra foresight, forecast e foresight strategico e spiega i principi e gli obiettivi dello strategic foresight. Segue la sezione metodologica, che descrive in dettaglio le diverse tecniche impiegate per raggiungere gli obiettivi del progetto. La ricerca, che ha coinvolto un gruppo di esperti visionari, ha combinato tecniche di Horizon scanning e di scenario planning, consentendo un'esplorazione completa delle tendenze, delle incertezze e dei fattori trasformativi che potrebbero plasmare il futuro panorama competitivo. Al centro del rapporto ci sono quattro scenari futuri originali. Ogni scenario è stato accuratamente elaborato e analizzato, evidenziando le possibili opportunità e le minacce. Questi scenari offrono visioni alternative sul come le aziende italiane medio-grandi potrebbero evolversi, sottolineando la variabilità e l'incertezza del futuro e fornendo al contempo spunti attuabili per i decisori e gli altri stakeholder. Infine, nella sezione conclusiva sono inclusi approfondimenti strategici e pattern sorprendenti o trascurati, emersi durante lo studio, evidenziando suggerimenti e idee interessanti che potrebbero essere ulteriormente sviluppati. Questa ricerca non è solo un'esplorazione di potenziali futuri, ma è una guida per il pensiero strategico, l'innovazione e la preparazione, che consente alle aziende italiane e agli ecosistemi dell'innovazione di affrontare le sfide e le opportunità dell'economia di domani basata sull'intelligenza artificiale .
