OH* Chemiluminescence, Flame Structure and CFD Analysis of A Partially- Premixed Acetylene/Air Flame
Bibliographic record
Abstract
To verify a CFD modelling approach, OH* chemiluminescence measurements are used to investigate the flame structure of a partially-premixed acetylene/air flame with high heat release rate in the primary oxidation/flame front. The technology employed features a UV-sensitive camera in combination with an appropriate bandpass filter.Averaged OH* intensity images are presented alongside their standard deviation as an indicator of OH* intensity fluctuations. The averaged images are inversely Abel-transformed, and the flame structure is evaluated using an additional CFD approach (Flamelet-Generated-Manifold, Reynolds-Stress-Model).Overall, four regions can be distinguished (cold core, primary oxidation/flame front, intermediate region, secondary oxidation/burnout).The CFD results suggest the primary species and the respective reaction regimes in each zone.Additionally, the product formation rate of CO and CO2 is found to provide a better indicator for high OH* intensities than the heat release rate as the formation of both species formations feature significant concentrations of OH* radicals.Together, the heat release rate and the product formation rate are suitable to assess and verify the turbulence/chemistry interaction for the selected reaction and turbulence model as they provide an overview of the major heat release region but also indicate the location of the secondary reaction front for similar configurations.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
