Abstract
Damage to the rubber coupling of a centrifugal pump can cause serious disruptions such as increased vibration, misalignment, and decreased operational efficiency. This study aims to analyze the main causes of rubber coupling damage and identify mechanical factors that affect its lifespan. The methods used include visual inspection, alignment measurement using the rim and face method, and vibration analysis with a vibration analyzer installed at strategic points of the pump system. The results showed that the rubber coupling was damaged due to a combination of radial misalignment of +0.25 mm and angular misalignment of -0.08 mm, exceeding the standard tolerance limit. Vibration data also showed a significant increase to more than 6.5 mm/s RMS, especially in the horizontal direction, indicating dynamic disturbances such as shaft imbalance and misalignment. Vibration spectra showed a predominance of frequencies around 1500-1600 CPM with high amplitude, reinforcing the evidence of mechanical failure due to repetitive dynamic loads. Intervention through improved alignment was shown to drastically reduce vibration values and restore system stability.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
