Abstract
¿Qué recordamos cuando conmemoramos el 12 de octubre? ¿Cómo se inscribe, rememora y enseña la fecha en las instituciones escolares? ¿Qué tensiones hay entre la enseñanza escolar y la construcción disputada de una memoria colectiva? Esta efeméride fue rebautizada en Argentina "Día del Respeto a la Diversidad Cultural” en el año 2010. La frase citada en el título fue publicada en Twitter/X en octubre de 2023 por la vicepresidenta Victoria Villarruel (en ese entonces candidata), celebrando el "Día de la Hispanidad” (sic) y estableciendo una relación entre el acontecimiento recordado y la construcción de su propia identidad. En este trabajo exploramos el vínculo entre los objetivos oficiales de la efeméride a lo largo del tiempo, las prácticas y actos escolares a partir de encuestas a docentes en ejercicio, jubilados y estudiantes de formación docente, y las disputas públicas en torno al sentido de la efeméride en los discursos de personajes relevantes de la política del último lustro.
