Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

When perinatal death occurs, the effect extends beyond the parents; it transcends to significant others and healthcare professionals. Caring for the bereaved parents and families is an immensely challenging duty often conducted by healthcare professionals who have little expertise in the subject. One group of professionals who are experts in perinatal bereavement care are bereavement midwives. However, very little is known about bereavement midwives. The purpose of this scoping review was to learn what was known about them. Using a systematic literature search, twenty-five relevant articles were included in the review. The conclusions drawn were bereavement midwives play a critical role in supporting bereaved parents and are meeting the needs of parents and families who experience perinatal loss. It is of enormous benefit to integrate bereavement midwives into health institutions globally. The option for existing midwives interested in perinatal bereavement care to specialize in this area is critical for optimum perinatal bereavement care.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
