Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Thirty years ago, a sobering dry spell in Icelandâs history came to an end. On Friday, the country celebrates the anniversary of the lifting of a decades-long ban on beer with â what else? â a nationwide Beer Day. The drink was outlawed in Iceland for 74 years, while all other booze was completely legal. The alcoholic anomaly finally ended on March 1, 1989. Thirty years ago, a sobering dry spell in Iceland's history came to an end when a decades-long ban on beer was lifted...So how does a country celebrate three decades since the return of beer? With what else - a nationwide Beer Day.The law was a holdover from Iceland's prohibition era, which started in 1915...but was later repealed by a close margin in 1933......beer remained outlawed to appease those leading a powerful temperance movement not happy with the lifting of prohibition rules.Beer would remained outlawed for the next 74 years with the alcoholic anomaly finally ending on March 1, 1989.Even then the margin was slim with the nation's current parliamentary speaker......who was an opponent back then...still defending the countryâs restrictive alcohol policy.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
