Sports Update: Newcomb's almost no-hitter, Dustin Johnsin wins Canadian Open, Kyle Busch's sixth NASCAR Cup Sean Newcomb came within one out of a no-hitter as the Atlanta Braves downed the Dodgers, 4-1 to avoid a four-game sweep. Chris Taylor ended with a single through the hole to end Newcomb's day after a career-high 134 pitches. The Arizona Diamondbacks have pulled within a half-game of NL West-leaders Los Angeles Dodgers. Paul Goldschmidt and Nick Ahmed each hit two-run homers and A.J. Pollock added a solo shot as the DBacks completed a three-game sweep, 5-4 at San Diego. Top-ranked Dustin Johnson shot a 6-under 66 for a three-stroke victory over Whee Kim and Byeong Hun An at the RBC Canadian Open in Oakville, Ontario. Johnson opened the final round tied with An, Kim and Kevin Tway before finishing 23 under. Kyle Busch didn't allow Saturday's failed inspection to stop him from earning his sixth NASCAR Cup victory of the season.Busch was set to start second in the race, but his No. 18 Toyota was one of 13 cars dumped to back of the pack for flunking post-qualifying inspection. He still managed to tie Kevin Harvick for the most wins this season.
