Abstract
Beginning at an elevation of about 450 m asl, this approximately 2 km trail descends a hundred metres down a series of swi t chback s and loops through a mostly conifer ous hillside on Salmon Arm’s Park Hill East Trail Network to Canoe Beach at Shuswap Lake (347 m asl), opposite Bastion Mountain (1344 m asl) across the bay . Located in British Columbia’s southern Interior plateau, our hillside forest walk encountered predominately western red cedar (Thuja plicata), western h emlock ( Tsuga heterophylla) and Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) .
