Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Dallas news for April 10th, 2018 After a woman's body was found burned and dismembered in a children's pool in a park near Lake Grapevine in 2016, the accused man's lawyer says he's guilty only of tampering evidence and not in the murder of a 24-year-old Texas Women's University Student. Yesterday was the first day of testimony in the trial of Charles Dean Bryant in the death of Jacqueline Vandagriff. Prosecutors called Bryant an "evil, destructive figure. Here in 2018, the median annual pay for women working full-time is 37 thousand 500 dollars per year...93 percent of what men earn. The gap's even wider in Collin County women earn 70 percent of what men do. It's 76 percent in Denton County. ====The housing market's up in North Texas with a jump in the first quarter Builders started a bit more than 8700 homes in the first three months of 2018 - 6.5 percent more than in the same period last year, according to the latest housing data from Dallas-based Residential Strategies Inc. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's met with senators in private meetings in Washington yesterday. He'll be testifying publicly before congress today in response to revelations the data-mining firm Cambridge Analytica gathered personal information from 87 million users to try to influence elections.===China is filing a complaint with the World Trade Organization in Geneva against U.S. tariffs on steel, aluminum products. The WTO says China has requested 60 days of consultations with the United States to resolve the dispute.===One of the two victims of the nerve agent poisoning in the UK has been discharged from the hospital.
