IE TCD MS 9385/1256: Letter from Joseph Soames, Soames Edwards, 58 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London to Matthew Evanson O'Brien dated 5th November 1891 informing him that he won't be able to meet with him due to a "cause": "It is more than probable that I may have a cause in tomorrow's list and if so I shall be unable to see you at the Inns of Court Hotel. If I do not call before 12 o'clock you may assume this is the case. I am glad to hear that you are better and capable of undertaking the journey". Dublin-born Matthew Evanson O'Brien (1842-1911) was a lawyer; he died and was buried in Wetaskiwin Cemetery, Wetaskiwin, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Joseph Soames was the solicitor for the Times newspaper for the Parnell Special Commission proceedings.
